Health and safety
Take care when lifting or, if appropriate, remove the bottles individually. Wine delivered by the case is roughly the following weight.
6 bottle case is approx. 8 kg -10kg depending
12 bottle case is approx: 16 kg-20 kg depending on the weight of the glass bottle .
Wine contains alcohol of differing quantities. The alcohol can vary from consignment to consignment. Please take time to study the alcohol by volume content of the individual bottle. This will be clearly marked on the bottle and sometimes may vary from that shown on this website. Drink responsibly at all times. We recommend you do not drive, or operate machinery at all, if you have consumed, or are planning to consume wine.
All wine contains sulphites. Some wines may have other allergens such as Milk (Lactose) Eggs, Fish, Nuts or cereals (gluten). If you have any allergies at all, please refer to the label on the bottle.
Do not drink wine if you are pregnant or are on certain medication. Please refer to your Doctor if this is a concern.
We also recommend that wine is best consumed at meal times and that water is always available as an alternative.
Drink your wine responsibly.
Secure payments
We use secure encrypted servers with Secure Server Layer (SSL) technology to handle your credit/debit card transactions with us.
For your security and peace of mind we store no credit card details. This does mean entering your details each time you make a purchase.
Out of stock
When demand outstrips supply of a certain vintage, supply becomes exhausted and that wine no longer is available. Usually we can take these wines off sale from the website.
If we are out of stock of a particular wine, we will contact you with either a back in stock date, or an alternative wine. If neither are acceptable we will credit your order back. Higher quality wines are only produced in finite quantities, due to restrictions in geography where certain wines can be produced.

If any bottles are damaged you need to let us know within 7 days. We will either replace them or credit you back the individual breakages. Photographic evidence may be requested.

If you need to return wine to us, please call us straight away. Other than breakages or theft detailed above you can call us within 90 days of delivery to report a wine you feel is faulty.
We need to ensure the wine arrives safely back, so please use the original boxes as they are stronger than your average cardboard box. If that box is damaged, call us on 01202 300331 or email (contact us box) and we’ll send you a suitable one to use.
Keeping wine
Wine is a food product and needs to be stored at a constant cool temperature. Ideally, you should store red wine between 52-60 degrees centigrade. For white wines, store at a slightly lower temperature, at around 40-50 degrees. Wine will keep fine for short periods at warmer temperatures, for example whilst in transit, however make sure your wine is stored well away from the following heat sources: radiators, heating pipes, airing cupboards, ovens, direct sunlight and any other heat emitting appliance. If you need to chill the wine further prior to serving then refrigerate for at least 4 hours before drinking.
Most wines on our website are best consumed within 18 months. If you have an enquiry about whether a wine is good for laying down please call us.

Wine descriptions and Vintages and ABVs:
When detailing our wines we try to be as clear as possible in our descriptions. We’ll avoid using phrases like “This Rioja style wine” if the wine is not from Rioja.
If you think we have been ambiguous in our description of our wines, please let us know and we’ll make any appropriate amendments. If you purchased wine based on a misunderstanding of our description then let us know and we’ll arrange the wine’s return as described in “Credits and Refunds” section above.
Vintages can change quickly and without notice on younger wines. As we deal directly with importers we will automatically substitute with the next available vintage. Please notify us at the time of ordering if the vintage is critical to your purchasing decision.
Occasionally the Alcohol by Volume (ABV) will vary during the year and the wine you order may have a different ABV from one production run or vintage to the next. Always refer to the bottle for the actual ABV before drinking.
