Tasting Notes...
A project between Las Terrazas and famous Bordeaux 'first growth' Cheval Blanc, this wine combines spectacular New World terroir with Old World know-how. Malbec 55%, Cabernet Sauvignon 43% and 2% Petit Verdot combine to make this wine. Matured in brand new French oak it offers up a nose of violets, brooding dark fruit and vanilla essence. Rich, structured and beautifully balanced on the palate, with fantastic concentration, texture and length. Hand harvested grapes go through two hand-sorting tables, first as whole clusters and then as single berries after destemming. During 28 days of fermentation the wine goes through 4 delestages and 8 pumpovers for a gentle, balanced extraction. Only the free–run wine was taken to 100% new French Oak barrels for a year and a half
