Marqués de Cáceres MC Rioja , is the pinnacle of the range. From start to finish, the entire production process is geared towards producing the finest quality wine. Fruit is hand picked from the oldest vines that are an average of 80 years old - these vines have a low yield, but with a high concentration of fruit. The wine is aged in new French oak for 12 months and then in bottle for a further 24 months. This is truly a fantastic wine, an attractive dark garnet colour, with a complex bouquet combining black fruits with an elegant touch of spiced oak. 2004 vintage is rated as a 5 star, excellent year.
Dark garnet red colour with brilliant highlights. Deep and intense bouquet combining notes of blackberries and blackcurrants with a delicious touch of cream and spice from ageing in excellent French oak.
Powerful and very well balanced in the mouth with good structure where tannins and concentration blend to perfection with fresh and fleshy fruit.
Very full with luscious flavours that come through with great character to finish with soft spice and just a hint of chocolate.
Choose MC for a special occasion. It will complement all kinds of quality meats, grilled, roasted or served in sauce, especially suckling pig, roast kid, beef fillet or lberian style pork. A perfect match for foie gras, light game dishes and cheese (strong or medium-matured).
Serve at 16-18°C.
